I can’t break confidences on this one, so I’m going to talk in hypotheticals about something that actually happened.
The CEO of a company saw a significant downturn in business and claimed he had no idea why. It was later revealed that this CEO had a widely known reputation for not treating people all that well. This wasn’t about treating one person badly. This was a whole reputation earned over time with many people. I don’t know the details beyond that, but I have seen the fallout, and it got me thinking about reputation.
