I have to consider myself an expert on road trips. I’m being a little braggadocious here and laughing about it. I should explain.
From the time we moved from Port of Spain, Trinidad to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, I was stuck in Oshkosh and never traveled more than 150 miles from home for the next nine years of my life. It wasn’t until I went on the road with a band that I got to see any of the US. By the time I moved to Olympia, WA at 21, I was ready to see something west of Minnesota and dying to see more of the US. That move from Oshkosh to Olympia was my first real road trip. I didn’t know a thing about the open road or what the US looked like.
