I was at the new Buc-ee’s grand opening yesterday morning in Springfield, Missouri, at 6 AM. Until the local news announced a Buc-ee’s opening in the area, I’d never heard of Buc-ee’s.
From that announcement on, it seemed to be the talk of the locals. I wanted to see what the fuss was about and why this had been constant news for the past two years. I was mostly curious about what they did that was so special and why this was such a big deal.
I was also curious about the effectiveness of their opening campaign, which, in my opinion, once I was there, wasn’t all that impressive. It contrasted sharply with what seemed like constant discussion on all the local social media pages over the last two years.
